Trans Athlete Was Extremely Deceptive, States World's Most Powerful Female

An English athlete honored as the planet's most powerful female says she was deprived of her victory celebration after it emerged the initial winner was a transgender woman who was not qualified to compete.

The British strongwoman was granted the championship after the fact after American athlete the disqualified contestant was disqualified.

The champion explained to sports media the event, held in the Texas city of Arlington, was overshadowed by an individual who wasn't eligible to participate.

"I was very frustrated and angry with what she's done," she stated. "She was untruthful and was very deceptive, and took away a lot of opportunities from a lot of female athletes.

"The lady that came 11th was denied the opportunity to compete in the final day... to have the elite ranking in the world."

Event coordinators, the strongman organization, stated "competitors could only participate in the division for their biological sex recorded at birth", and that they had disqualified the athlete in question "who is biologically male."

Event Details

Records show Booker took part in at least two other female strength competitions this season - winning the Washington competition in June and finishing second at North America's Strongest Woman in July.

Journalists could not contact Booker and the organization confirmed "efforts had been made to get in touch with the competitor... but a response had not been received."

The champion, forty-three, eventually became the global female strength champion for the second occasion, having previously claimed the title in two thousand eighteen.

But it was only after this year's event concluded that she learned her rival had been not qualified to compete.

"There was no indication at all during the event - nobody had any reason to suspect any issues," said the mother of two from Suffolk.

"It was about several hours after that the first rumours started going round, and then the officials notified me.

"It represents a significant accomplishment that's been marred by some dishonesty."

Event Particulars

Power competitions have no single governing body, rather, private organizations organize a range of competitions.

The World's Strongest Woman title is presented at the International Strength Competition, organized by a UK-registered organization.

More than 400 competitors from nearly 40 countries took part in this year's competition, which organisers describe as "among the pinnacles of the power sports community."

The Competition included contests across various gender, weight and age categories.

Thompson and the American competitor were in the Women's Open division and participated in six events over three days, including the overhead press, timber frame carry and deadlift ladder.

Rules and Qualifications

An announcement from the organization stated: "Competitors are placed to men's or women's categories based on whether they are registered as male or woman at birth.

"Evidence suggests that an competitor who is biologically male and who now identifies as a woman participated in the Female Open division... officials were unaware of this fact prior to the event."

In twenty twenty-three, the state enacted a regulation banning "biological men from participating with women competitors", although this only applies to college and university sport in the state.

The champion believes female strength competitions may introduce sex screening in the coming years.

"I suppose it's going to have to proceed along that route... but our discipline is still quite new. There's not enough funding in it to have these things in operation. We rely on the integrity of the competitors."

Broader Athletic Context

In the past few seasons, a increasing number of athletic organizations have barred competitors who have experienced puberty as males from competing in elite women's events, amid concerns over equity and protection, including international swimming and track and field organizations.

In spring, major British sports bodies were among a number of associations to implement similar policies, after the UK Supreme Court's ruling that the legal definition of a woman is based on birth sex.

The decisions have been challenged by trans rights activists, who contend they could infringe upon individual freedoms and insist inclusion should be prioritised.

Both international athletics and boxing bodies introduced genetic sex screening this season, asserting it is needed to protect the fairness of female sports.

A representative from international athletics has claimed that between 50 and 60 athletes who went through male puberty have been top placers in the female category in global and continental track and field championships since the year two thousand.
