The Renowned Musician Calls On Support to Get Palestinian Solidarity Song to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A fundraising initiative is aiming to launch a traditional song from Palestine to the Christmas number one spot. The effort aims to deliver assistance to communities in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian cultural expression.

An Opportunity for Solidarity and an "Chart Upset"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a opportunity to stand with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He remarked the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“It would be incredible if that occurred, yes,” he stated. “I wouldn't be completely let down if it fails to, holiday tracks are a unique phenomenon.”

Defiant Message of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the version of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's resilient spirit.

“It has a profound significance for many individuals,” Barghouti shared. “The essence is that I would choose to perish with honor than spend my life without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we desire to exist a life of dignity that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Contributing Musicians

The track was produced in the wake of a large-scale benefit event held in September. Initially planned to be performed and recorded live, the rendition was cut from the show due to the event running long.

The notable list of performers featured on Lullaby encompasses a group of well-known figures from the industry. All took part in the earlier concert, which reportedly raised a substantial amount for charitable causes.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was brought to life by a trio of producers and composers. The single features a fusion of the heritage language with contemporary English verses.

The team running the campaign have emphasized that their goal is to generate maximum funds for a specific fund. These donations will be channeled to Palestinian causes through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“We haven't set a rigid aim,” a representative explained. “We aim for as much as possible. Of course, the greater the amount, the better. Every penny goes out to Gaza.”

The situation in the region was described as its profound destruction, with a vast majority of infrastructure said to be destroyed or damaged.

“In that context, a few million doesn’t make a massive dent. But I think what does make a difference is first of all making this cause better known and proving the human dimension of the story.”

The song is set to be released this Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the charity concert will be made ready to watch on a major video platform from later in the month.
