Passionate followers of the pop star are calling for that a individual who jumped a fence and seized the performer during the recent Wicked: For Good premiere be detained or expelled from Singapore.

A widely shared clip reveals the person identified as Johnson Wen shoving aside photographers and charging at Grande while the cast proceeded down a event pathway flanked by supporters.

Cast member Cynthia Erivo immediately guided the surprised star away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being removed of the gathering by guards.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram recently that he was "released after being detained", though official papers showed that he was set to be present on the following morning. It is not clear if he was formally accused.

History of Event Invasions

This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Controversial Figure", has crashed a performance. His Instagram account contains clips of him interrupting other high-profile occasions, including jumping on stage at the artist's Sydney concert in June this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers concert in the city last year.

"There needs to be action taken against him as this is evidently a punishable act," wrote an Instagram user, in a reply to a video Mr Wen posted of his behavior.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" another Instagram user wrote.

Followers Express Concern Over Grande's Past Trauma

Numerous followers accused Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had spoken of dealing with trauma-related anxiety after a devastating incident at the conclusion of her spring 2017 concert in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and wounding hundreds.

"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" wrote another comment on Instagram.

Several attendees also questioned event staff at the premiere for not being adequately prepared; while different individuals demanded online networks to block Mr Wen's videos.

Aftermath and Event Details

In videos shared widely, Grande looked surprised when she was touched by the man. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen reassuring her while Mr Wen was led out by staff.

Grande has remained silent on the situation, and the rest of the event carried on uninterrupted.

Many of attendees had assembled in a sea of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good regional debut in a Singapore venue, including several who had queued for as long as eight hours before it started.

The motion picture, to be launched on 21 November, is the follow-up of a two-film adaptation of the popular Broadway and West End show Wicked, which focuses on the surprising bond between two very different characters.

The production itself is a spin-off of the 1900 book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who plays the character Glinda Glinda, was adorned in a rosé sequin dress at the event while Erivo, who plays the villainous character, wore a sleek black dress decorated with roses.

They were alongside co-star Jeff Goldblum.

The initial film, Wicked, was the most successful film of the previous year in the UK, and received 10 award recognitions, earning a pair for best costume and artistic direction.
